I’ve been using this plugin on many sites now & it works seamlessly. Thanks for the great work!
However, recently I installed it on 2 websites & it takes me to a 404 page when I try to access the new URL (login screen does not appear at all).
In essence, both the old URL (wp-admin) as well as new URL are inaccessible.
Had to login via the host to disable the plugin.

Not sure if this is due to a recent update? Please help!

For me it happens on Chrome also

I am experiencing the same issue. I use Firefox. I ended up re-installing WordPress but have tried again to use the plugin and I get a 404 page as described above. Hoping not to have to re-install and loose all the customization I’ve put into the site.

    Hello all !

Thanks for using WPS Hide Login.

What is your host ? Are you using cache plugin or a CDN ?

The plugin works but many ways can create 404 error.

    Hi @seinomedia

My host is Bluehost & I use the Bluehost cache plugin. No CDN.
Both my sites are fresh WP installations on BlueHost.

    Hello,

Are your admin pages cached in Bluhost plugin settings ?

In this case, exclude these pages (login pages included).

Check if BlueHost is compatible with WPS Hide Login. Some hosts like WPEngine seem to make conflict with the plugin.

    Hi @seinomedia

I just checked again. No, the admin pages are not cached.
I have another site on the same Hosting account where WPS Hide Login works fine.
    Hence, hosting isn’t a problem.
The only difference is that the plugin version on that site(where WPS Hide Login works) is 1.9.3
On the new site (where it does not work), I’m installing 1.9.4

Which is why I suspect it could be due to the new update?

Hey there, I have exactly the same problem. I’ m a web designer and have the plugin running on several sites and love it. But for all the new pages I’m currently creating, unfortunately it doesn’t work anymore. But for me it doesn’t redirect to the 404 page, nothing happens. Only by renaming the plugin in the FTP area I can log in again.

It can’t be due to my hoster, because I have all my customers with the same hoster. I would be really happy if you would find the error and I can use the plugin again. Best regards!

    Hello all,

Unfortunately, I can’t get the issue from y side. I’d prefer to help you.

Have you tried to deactivate all other plugins or to switch theme in order to check if the issue still happens ?

I am experiencing the same issue. I disabled all plugins, changed to one of the built in themes and then re-enabled the plugin. As soon as I did that (cleared my application cache from dev-tools) and refreshed the admin-page, it gave me a 404.

The only way to recover is to again disable all plugins.

This is awful, was there a recent update to WPS Hide Login? I’ve had to take down my entire site for this…

Ended up being a separate issue with an other plugin that was adding a rewrite rule to a non-existent page. Put the whole permalink structure into a weird state (best I can figure).
