Setting up a redirection for an entire site also redirects wp-admin, is it possible to not allow wp-admin to redirect so that the dashboard can still be accessed?

  • You can use regex to exclude wp-admin from your redirect. Can you give me some examples of your redirects and the reason why you want to redirect the entire site? It’s easier for me to make any suggestions.

There is no reason I would redirect the whole site myself, but we have many different users that might not know any better. If a user does add a wild card redirection for the whole site there is no longer any way to get into wp-admin and remove the redirection without finding the record in the database and removing it.

Hi @jroy1082, in my test, with wildcard redirect (/*), I can still access the admin normally, can you give me an example of redirect that prevents access to the admin area?

That’s odd, I tested and you are correct that a wild card redirect still allows access to the dashboard. I’m not sure how the user was able to redirect the dashboard then, we already removed their account so I can’t look back at it. Thank you for looking into it.
