Redirecting from /page/1/

  • On my home server, whenever I enter a permalink address ending with “/page/1/”, for the first archive page, it leaves it untouched; however on the server I’m uploading to — where I didn’t create the WordPress installation — it removes the “/page/1/” and the query var “paged” is set to “0”.

    The problem is that the theme I created needs to differentiate between circumstances in which the user actually entered a “/page/1/” and where he didn’t so it can tell what type of content to throw up.

    There appear to be no plug-ins that make the difference. I know I can mess around with the rewrite rules filter, but it seems like there should be a simpler solution in this case. Can anyone help?
