redirecting subdomain to subdomain

I’ve done some searching in the forums and not really found a clear answer to my particular problem, and I was hoping someone with .htaccess experience could point me in the right direction.

Moved a blog from blog.domain1.com to blog.domain2.com. Need to redirect the old to the new in such a way that all the pages, posts, categories, etc. will redirect as well. There are simply too many pages, posts, categories and tags to do them all separately. I would die of old age before I could get it done. ??

I’ve tried with a wildcard redirect through the cpanel at the host, but they claim there is something in the original .htaccess file that is interfering. Of course they would not tell me what that was or I could comment it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
