  • Hi @stefanimhoff,

Your domain steinfels.local is not resolving, which means the DNS records are not properly configured. Browser can’t get to the domain, let alone WordPress and Redirection. Please check with an online DNS propagation checker and address this issue with your hosting or DNS provider.

Yes, it’s a local environment for developing-purpose. But on the Live-Server I’ve the same problem.
    Shouldn’t it work locally?
I need to figure out the problem so I want to debug it.
Where does Redirection hooking in to WordPress to check if a redirect is necessary?

    Best regards!

    Hi @stefanimhoff,

Sorry for the misunderstanding. With so many TLDs popping up every day, I thought .local had made it to the league ??

Anyway, I don’t think I can answer with certainty your question, but I’d guess if you are seeing an archive.php page, it probably means WordPress is redirecting that URL, likely based on a “nearest match”. If you Google “wordpress closest match redirect” you’ll see a few posts describing how that works and how to disable it if you want. You can check whether my assumption is right by opening that URL with Dev Tools on (F12 on Chrome). Check the Network tab and click on the first file, see if there’s a header “x-redirect-by: WordPress”.
