Hi, today I created a redirection for a forum post, which I have done many times in the past, as recently as a couple days before this month.

    For example: https://rockclass101.com/october-2017-challenge

will redirect to an active forum post.

When creating a new redirection link for today, the url would include the forum title multiple times, for example:

    forums/topic/participate-in-the-october-2017-member-challenge-halloween-themed-300-prize/forums/topic/participate-in-the-october-2017-member-challenge-halloween-themed-300-prize/forums/topic/participate-in-the-october-2017-member-challenge-halloween-themed-300-prize/

    instead of once: forums/topic/participate-in-the-october-2017-member-challenge-halloween-themed-300-prize/

I am able to redirect wordpress pages successfully and all past inputted redirects work. But, I cannot create new ones.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

To further clarify, when you clicked the redirection link, it would take you to a page with the forum url displayed multiple times in the url, resulting in the page not loading and unable to access it from the direct forum link too.

And one more thing. When I deleted the redirection, and you clicked the original forum link, it would take you to the 404 error page.

Do you have an example of this problem? https://rockclass101.com/october-2017-challenge seems to work fine

Unfortunately not. I am running a business and had to fix the last forum link as it related to a timely release. Creating a separate post for demonstration isn’t ideal. Is there any other way for you to trouble shoot this?

It’s hard to say what is wrong without being able to see it. If you have created an infinite redirect then it’s usually caused by a regular expression. Are you using a regular expression?
