Redirection to new domain

You will always need to maintain the domain name, and have that pointed at something where a redirect can occur.

Thank you. for your quick response. Yes, we are maintaining the old domain registration, just not hosting a website for it. I installed the plugin on the new site to test it. How long should I expect the redirect to take effect. In the test case, I created a redirect for https://mgfchelancounty.org/volunteers/volunteer-resources/ to https://chelandouglas.mastergardenerfoundation.org/volunteer-portal/ and it is just going to https://chelandouglas.mastergardenerfoundation.org/

I should say that I have a permanent redirect for the old site https://mgfchelancounty.org/ to the new site https://chelandouglas.mastergardenerfoundation.org/

By checking the redirect in the plugin, I see that by using Cloudflare to redirect my domain name to new site, that it takes precedence over anything in WordPress so I will need to look at Cloudflare for a solution. Let me know if am understanding correctly.
