Firstly, the plugin is great and i have been using it wherever possible. Thanks for the great work.

I have two sites and the sites have following taxonomy structure.

    site.com/stores/storename1

For my new website i used your plugin from day 1 and the url was changed to

MyNewSite.com/stores/ (Shows the default stores page with all the listings – Required)

MyNewSite.com/stores/Store1 (Default) changed to MyNewSite.com/Store1 (works and looks great.)

Now my question is with respect to my old site which existed prior to the launch of this plugin or prior to knowing about your plugin.

Adding your plugin again works well and changes the links to the desired ones:

    MyOldSite.com/stores/ and
    MyOldSite.com/Store1/
    MyOldSite.com/Store2/
    MyOldSite.com/Store3/

But the problem is that old urls are in google and i am facing issues in redirection.

redirecting everything like MyOldSite.com/stores/* to MyOldSite.com/* works for all the Store1, Store2… pages but it removes the MyOldSite.com/Store/ page also.

Can you help with how the redirection should be done to avoid 404 errors, when activating your plugin?

So you want the page myoldsite.com/stores/store1 to redirect to myoldsite.com/store1 ?

Yes, myoldsite.com/stores/store1 should to redirect to myoldsite.com/store1; but MyOldSite.com/stores/ should not redirect to MyOldSite.com/. MyOldSite.com/stores/ base page should remain as is.

Ok, but this feature is not in the plugin right now, maybe I will add this into a future version.

And I need to know also, MyOldSite.com/stores/ – what is it?
Taxonomy base by default is empty, or it’s a page or a post type slug/base

The /stores/ is a custom taxonomy which has been added. For more details you may refer to the demo from the seller (https://demos.appthemes.com/?theme=clipper-admin)

Please see details with my site links below.

My old site url is https://www.couponminister.in/ (Your plugin not activated)

https://www.couponminister.in/stores/ has a listing of all the stores and the link on each of the store page has https://www.couponminister.in/stores/babyoye/ url structure.

On my test site (CouponMini.com) with your plugin activated. The url’s are couponmini.com/stores/ for the listing of all the stores and couponmini.com/babyoye/.

Even after activating your plugin on the test site, the /stores/ url remains alive (which is desired).

I need help to now make use of your plugin but how should i manage my redirections to ensure that no 404 errors arise.

I see that https://www.couponminister.in/stores/ is a page template

So, will you be able to suggest how to handle the redirection. Since, the plugin doesn’t modify a page template, the final structure works. But how should i handle the redirection to ensure https://www.couponminister.in/stores/ remains whereas all the other store pages like https://www.couponminister.in/stores/babyoye/ are redirected to couponminister.in/babyoye/

I don’t think I will add this because it can come into in a conflict with other pages or custom post type posts.

Example IF you have a post type “Stores” (couponminister.in/stores) with “Babyoye” (couponminister.in/stores/babyoye/) post, it will redirect to couponminister.in/babyoye/ – that’s not good.

I think such redirection feature will fit in another plugin, I don’t know if there is such plugin, sorry.
