    This happens on all the sites I manage for clients. I update with MainWP weekly, yet clients contact me worrying about this nag message. Does this really mean that the DB needs to be updated after I update the plugin? Or is this a caching issue?

    Other redirection plugins don’t have this nag message displayed prominently at the top of the page, I’m considering switching all of them out.

    You may get a message to update your Redirection database after you update the plugin, yes. You should only get this message once. If you get it again then something is caching data on your site and you will need to clear this cache.

    Okay. This worries my clients. When I update it on a dozen sites or so from MainWP and then also have to manually login to those sites and update again so my clients don’t see the nag, it’s considerable extra time for me.

    I don’t know what MainWP is, but you can use WP CLI to upgrade the sites in bulk

    Just want to bump: showing the DB update warning to non-admins is an issue.

    @redkite,
    I just asked John a similar question. Yes, each site will need a DB update. On the admin side, this means visiting each site. To take care of them all at once, install wp-cli and run the following command: wp redirection database upgrade

    @johnny5,
    In the future, would it be possible to hide all warnings from authors, editor, etc roles? They don’t see nags for core updates – so this was a bit alarming.

    That’s a good point, I didn’t realise it was showing for everyone and it seems I missed off a capability check. Will add in the next version.

    You rock. Thanks for all the hard work.
