    Hi,

On my WooComm site, I have changed the permalinks of several products. I resubmitted the siteindex from RankMath plugin to Google Search Console. However, I did not create any redirects in the Redirects section of RankMath. I don;t remember the older URL’s. Will it create any problems in my SEO and will the older URLs be still visible in the search engines.?

Is there any feature in RankMath that can prevent any problems that arise because of this?

    Thanks

    Hello @mjaitly123,

Thank you so much for getting in touch.

Changing the permalink structure does allow WordPress to create a redirection which is normal and required for the SEO. You can safely ignore this behavior as Google will soon transfer the ranking authority from the old URLs to the new ones. Once Google recrawls the entire website, the redirect issue should be removed from the GSC report.

Thanks for your reply. I guess I am clear about redirections. However, I will change permalinks of more products, will it be necessary for me to resubmit the sitemap from RankMath to the GSC or will Google crawl it automatically? So basically, I want to know is that whenever permalinks are changed, should the sitemap be resubmitted to the GSC?

    Hello @mjaitly123,

Assuming your sitemap has updated the URLs (you can try visiting your sitemap pages on your browser), Google should crawl it automatically but you can also resubmit your sitemap just to be sure.
