    Addendum to my earlier post:

After changing a client’s URL, I added 54 redirects to the 301 Settings page. None of them worked. So we set them up in the site’s cPanel. Later figured out that we had to move all the code to the top of the .htaccess file to get them to work. Still had a redirect loop. Then figured out we had to deactivate the plugin so those commands wouldn’t conflict with the redirect code in the .htacces file.

Not sure why things are no longer working. I have used this plugin successfully for several years. Had it on this website for 9 months. Now, nothing works.

Is this a WordPress updates issue?

I’m having the same issue. Anyone know of a different plug-in?

@catenacreations (now JustAsking) – I would at some stage appreciate an apology for your inappropriate, inaccurate and offensive comments at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/checkbox-doesnt-show-up-in-chrome.

Buzztone: I am not going to apologize for my remarks. I stand by what I said.

for what it’s worth, the re-direct did not work for me until I used the full url for both the original landing page and the new destination page like so:

    https://www.promerasports.com/whey-landing-page/ redirect to: https://www.promerasports.com/product/con-cret-whey-protein/

Thanks, jennsweb! Using the full URL for both original and destination worked for me, too. For me ,copying and pasting the full URL for the original is much faster than having to highlight and copy just the portion that follows the domain name.

I have had mixed results and admit that my knowledge of redirects is in the still learning stage. I have implemented a redirect of a dead link that shows up in a Google search only for John McCulley. It returns the link https://mcculleydesign.com/about/john-mcculley/ which no longer exists. It is to be redirected to https://mcculleydesign.com/about/ using both /about/john-mcculley/ to /about/ and with the full url. It works but then it does not. I log into multiple users using chrome. 2 of those redirect and the other 2 do not and to set this straight PC running Safari, Edge and IE redirect and google on FF does not plus my iPad does redirect. Unfortunately some of the folks that work with, none of their variations redirect. Another redirects on Apple with Chrome and Safari but not FF. What’s up? It feels like their browser cache needs to be cleared which I did with my PC chrome instances that did not, but no change.

Problem solved itself. added the full urls for both and with a bit of waiting it works.
