I installed the free version of this plug this plug-in. I have a SSL from Let’s Encrypt and wanted to use Stripe as my gateway. I added in all the required fields except the seal. At one point I saw the membership check in form but later after adding contents, etc. The page no longer rendered and redirected to my home page. My theme is course cats.

I spoke to Stripe too to see if there was any problems on their end. They said I didn’t have a token but I told them I was still working in the sandbox.

I also checked my SSL with padlock and everything was good. I even check the membership checkin url. It was good too.

The only thing I could think of is I didn’t import my old members and simply changed them to the right course in the users panels. The plugin sent me the correct emails telling me that I had changed their status.

Or perhaps I can’t use this plug in with Let’s Encrypt. It doesn’t have a seal. I looked everywhere. Their forums state they won’t provide one. There isn’t a script either or a custom script to use either.

I am totally dumb founded what is causing this issue. If I am logged in as the admin, I can’t see the page either in view. It directs to membership levels page. Again, I have no idea if that is correct.

Any suggestions? I have spent hours trying to figure this out.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @greentalk,

Thank you for using Paid Memberships Pro.

You do not need a seal from your SSL provider to make Paid Memberships Pro work. Paid Memberships Pro would even work on non-encrypted sites (which is not advised for security reasons).

I have had a look at your button on your levels page, and it seems incorrect. It is missing a parameter to the URL.

For example if you want to checkout for a membership with an ID of 1 your URL should be https://www.howtoverticalgarden.com/membership-account/membership-checkout/?level=1 which I have just tested and it works as intended.

Please can you update your button’s URL on the page https://www.howtoverticalgarden.com/membership-join/

    This should resolve your issue.

I just figured that out. When you are in the back end of the program and you fill out the pages, you can’t see the “view” of the membership checkout page since that page doesn’t exist.

I took that url (from the view page) on my button because I didn’t know any better. Where would you have figure out to add the ?level=1. Was that in the instructions and I missed it?

My theme person helped me figure it out.

Thanks for the feedback, here is a link to all our documentation – https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/documentation/

By default, your levels page that uses [pmpro_levels] shortcode will create all the buttons when a level is created automatically.

I don’t think we have a clear indication that you can simply adjust the ?level=1 for the checkout page in our documentation and have added this to our documentation planning board to add this in the near future.

Please feel free to open a new support thread should you require any further assistance.
