I used to have our site set up with a “Coming Soon” plugin that allowed a “backdoor” to the system by appending “/?preview” to the end of any page on the site. After using that suffix, you were able to freely click around the site.

I created a custom redirect and have tried “exact”, “contains”, and “ends with” and none of these work. I’m trying to redirect them to a different bypass (backdoor) link from a different plugin that we’re now using, for the same purpose, while the site is under construction.

No matter what I try, when I visit the URL, it never redirects.

    Hello @jord8on,

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Can you please share the plugin that you are using to create a coming soon page and also the screenshot of the redirection you created so we can try to reproduce that on our end?

    Looking forward to helping you.

We are using the CMP plugin for coming soon

The redirection we set up in RankMath was:

    Set this URL:
    https://pickleballist.com/?preview

    to redirect to:
    https://pickleballist.com/?cmp_bypass=preview

Formerly, we used to use another “Coming Soon” plugin and the URL that we used to bypass it was https://pickleballist.com/?preview so we wanted to allow us to continue using that link, which we have saved everywhere, to redirect to the new bypass link for the new Coming Soon Plugin.

    Hello @jord8on

    Thank you for more details.

Sorry to disappoint but using ? in the redirections is unfortunately not available at this time.

With that being said, there are existing feature requests, so I’ve added your vote to our internal suggestions lists. If your suggestions are something that we’re able to introduce, I’ll be sure to let you know.

If there’s anything else we can help you with, please let us know. We are here to assist.

Darn! Well, that’s the kicker! I definitely would vote that up!

Question marks in redirects are critical. for example… think of if we have some product variation that uses URL parameters to indicate which product (using question marks ? and ampersands &)

Would be great to have that feature.

Nevertheless, I’m glad to know why the redirects are not working!

    Thanks, Rankmath team!
