redis issue on php 8

I am sorry about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you with this.
Can you please confirm that this issue only occurs when you enable Brotli compression in Performance>Browser Cache?
Can you please share which Redis version you are using and what is the W3 Total cache version currently in use?

I’m terribly sorry, I keep confusing Brotli with redis. What I meant was: when I enable redis cache, i get that notification. I’m running TC 2.2.4 on WP6.0.1, redis version delivered by webhost is 5.3.4.

It seems that the Redis version may be outdated.
Can you please make sure to install a phpredis extension on your server and let me know if the problem persists?

It does seem a bit old. I’ll have to ask my hosting provider. Will get back.

My host came back with the following:

the error is because of a php8.1 deprecation (can’t pass null to an integer parameter). So this seems to be an issue of php8.1 non compliance of w3tc code.

so either the code is adapted, or the variable $port needs to be provided, any number would do.
