  • A deferred loading of external scripts doesn’t solve it. The one and only method is to remove them, but you can try using deferred loading of scripts in cache plugin settings. It can improve loading behaviour, but the best result is to remove them.

It is not possible for me to remove ads such as adsense. There must be another way.

Only the basic script from Adsense https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js can be loaded deferred, but not the requests to the ad networks. Loading of adsbygoogle.js takes only a few kb, but that doesn’t block. The most blockings are caused by the requests to ad networks and rendering of the code for the ads. This can’t be solved! No way!

Every host that uses ads have the same problem, so you are not alone….

By optimizing the ad networks, it is possible to remove the opening time of the site up to 90 in the pagespeed test. I just wonder if it’s in this litespeed cache

wp rocket does this job successfully

Again, only the basic Adsense script can be loaded deferred. WP Rocket does the same only and has only effect on first page request. After first page request Adsense loads more scripts to always set the first request on each following page requests. The deferred loading of ads can only be improved on the first page request. This has a little advantage, but has also disadvantages. If ads loads deferred it takes much longer to display ads that are displayed on top of the page and this reduces the RPM, CTR, CPC….. With ads and Adsense it is impossible to get both, a high Pagespeed score without disadvantages with ads.

I know your problem, because I also use Adsense, but have a custom solution and can’t be done universal.

Well, if your article is long, you will start to see ads on the back as you read it already. google also cares about speed.

    google also cares about speed.

Ofcourse, but Google isn’t only 1 department. Adsense department doesn’t care about what other departments do.

Well, if your article is long, you will start to see ads on the back as you read it already.

That doesn’t matter. The highest value is on top ads and if these ads are not displayed first, you won’t get more per click if users scroll back to the top of page.

Anyway, there is a solution, but can’t be done with any plugin for optimizing. It is a custom solution and must be created depending on page layout and ads position.

    I am out now!

FYI: It is possible to get 100/100 Pagesped score with Adsense and a non WP page with 600k pages:

    Hi @serpentdriver

Can you please share how you were able to achieve this without affecting adsense revenue in RPM, CTR and CPC?

I am really interested in knowing.

    Best regards.
