Reduce the size of content area

    I would ideally like my content area to be 594 px wide, with a perimeter padding of 20 px (I don’t want the space hugging my text, images, and videos).

    With the padding, the total with would be 634 px.

    Would anyone mind sharing with me how to accomplish this.

    Also if there are blantant drawbacks you can foresee on mobile devices, please don’t hesitate to share.

    Actually let me retract that.

    The content area should be 682px with a padding of 40px, leaving 602 pixels of space for content.
