  • Since you didn’t provide a link to your site, I went off the Parament demo to come up with this custom CSS:

    #branding {
      min-height: 0;
    }

    Don’t edit the theme files directly, otherwise your changes will be overwritten every time the theme is updated to the latest version.

    An easy way to add custom CSS is to install the Jetpack plugin and activate the Custom CSS module. You’ll then add your custom CSS in the new stylesheet editor that’ll appear in your dashboard, under Appearance > Edit CSS.

    As alternatives, you could either install a standalone custom CSS plugin, or create a child theme.

    Thanks Kathryn

    May I ask as a matter of interest where in the theme files was this particular code as I spent hours searching for it, so very curious now.

    I used a browser inspector to right-click on the element and find the relevant code quickly.

    Here are some other good posts about using a browser inspector to identify the right elements to target with custom CSS:

    Hi Kathryn

    Thanks so much for the tip, but I am really still struggling to find that bit of code in my browser and then viewing it in my theme file.

    Sorry I think I will give up ?? Lol

    Hello,

    I would like a family website that will be responsive and provide information about ancestors, host a few photos, and be able to collect reunion fees and order family t-shirts.
    I’m sure I will need that will handle at least 5 slides that may contain from 5 to 30 photos and information. I will need an e or woo-commerce so that I can have PayPal buttons that will collect reunion fees and collect payment for shirts.
    I would want to link/connect some names to other areas on the site; I would want a counter for the number of visitors.
    I will need from 10 – 15 pages as most of the information would be on sliders.
    I have registration and T-shirt forms that would need to have button and hold PayPal buttons.
    I have already laid out what I need on PowerPoint with the backgrounds I want, and we already have WordPress and HostGator accounts. I’m hoping I can just copy and paste this stuff into WordPress.
    Please let me know if there is a free WP theme that would handle all of this. If not, one that is REALLY affordable.
    The link to my site is https://www.peckfamilysite.com. But, I warn you, it is in terrible shape. I can’t get rid of that one ugly theme.
    I have someone helping me and I not sure if know much more than I.

    cynpeck – this thread is about a specific issue someone was trying to solve with Parament and is marked as resolved. If you need a theme suggestion, please create a new post in the general themes forum:
