Reducing images to 50% or less of content width?

I really like to idea of automatically serving smaller image sizes to smaller screened devices. Great plugin.
However, this method still only reduces the size to the maximum width of the content container. On a full size browser, many of my image sizes are about 1/3 the width of the container, with content wrapping on the left or right. Is there a way to set Hammy to reduce the affected images to 50% or less of the container width? Can it be done with selected pages?
