    I just downloaded footnotes and LOVE the beauty, elegance and ease of use as well as the hover function that can hold links.

    When I hover over a reference, however, it shows the number for other references located in nearby text as if the background were not opaque. None of the other text “bleeds through” into the citation though.

    I tried changing the background color.
    Changing the x and y parameters simply creates more space around the number bleeding through.

    Fixes for this?

    additional issue re references showing through:

    I’ve just added and viewed additional references. Images in the sidebar (Alpine Phototile pinterest plugin ; the Jet Pack subscribe button) cover the hover image from the citations. Other widgets stay underneath the hover function (evolution sidebar box).

    I am using a ZigZag theme (Genesis) with Word Press 4.0.

    Hi vmead, thanks for your report.
    We have to take a look at your theme in conjunction with our plugin.
    Unfortunately the Genesis Framework and the ZigZag theme are both paid for solutions.
    How can we get our hands on the theme?

    Hi Mark,

    How about emailing Joe Mar, who designed the theme for me and see if he can be of any help?

    also, here’s a link to my blog and the way the footnotes are currently showing up on the latest post (from Nov 7):

    Hi vmead,

    it seems that the popup box is displayed in the background and other elements (e.g. other superscripts and buttons) are in the foreground.

    If you add the following CSS code the popup window will be in the foreground.

    .footnote_tooltip {
     z-index: 9;
    }

    HI Stefan,

    thanks so much for the tip
    I will give it a try (need to ask my web developer for assistance so can’t yet tell you if it worked)

    Adding the footnote_tooltip recommended by Stefan solved the issues I mentioned and a few others that had popped up (I was unable to click on a link in the hover text before it disappeared; one footnote hover box would disappear on its own within less than a second).

    Thanks for the assistance!
