    Hello Friends
I’m using iThemes Security. last days I see attempts of hacking, diffent IP’s are logging. But Now I see my own domain under reffer (using option all log data). I am not sure, but I think this is not normal.

For example, today in the log data:
    Host: 185.8.239.148
    URL: wp-content/plugins/wp-conns.php
    Referrer: my own website

Can someone explain what is going on here?

I guess we are talking about ‘404 Error’ entries in the Logs page ?

Sites can make HTTP requests to themselves …

Could be malicious but not necessarily …

Is there any additional data (query_string) displayed when you click on
the Details link for such ‘404 Error’ entry ?

    Hello @pronl

    Thanks for the reply
    Yes indeed 404 messages.
I find it strange, they tried to access my website via a URL.
because the URL does not exist, I get a 404 message in the logs data (Ithemes securuty).
Also mentioned is the IP Address of the person who has made an attempt.
Under Referrer there is my own domain (example.com), my website.

I did a test, I have used a wrong URL (example.com/blablabla) I als oget a 404 message in my logs but now refferer is empty.
It is strange, i dont’t understand.
