Refreshing home page and other related pages when writing a new post
-
Dear Support,
I’m having a busy site with a lot of posts and I’m trying to find a good way of caching it so that all pages are served quickly.
I had this option checked:
‘Extra homepage checks. (Very occasionally stops homepage caching) (Recommended)’
However, posts wrote even up to 1 hour ago weren’t showing up on the home page.
Q1: How often is the home page checked? Also, does that mean that its cache is regenerated if newer posts have been published?
After noticing that the home page is not updated when writing new posts, I decided to try to check also this other option:
‘Clear all cache files when a post or page is published or updated.’
Well, this one did it, but the problem is that it deleted all the cache collected over a longer period of time and for a lot of pages.
Q2: Is there a way that WP Super Cache regenerates the cache only for those pages related to the post, such as:
1) home page;
2) category page(s);
3) tag(s);
4) monthly archive page(s);
5) rss feed(s)?
Such a feature would be fantastic because it doesn’t make much sense to erase all the cache so that the pages related to a new post are regenerated, especially on large websites.
Thanks,
Mihai
