Refreshing Sidebar Widgets page error –

    I was putting together an “About me” vanity widget (picture, blurb and a couple links for contact/more-about). Almost finished with it and even if no changes are made to any widget, when I refresh the page (wordpress/wp-admin/themes.php?page=widgets/widgets.php) I get a “The page you are viewing contains POSTDATA…” every time. Obviously I missed something, but I can’t find it…

    Anyone run across this before? Any suggestions?

    This is normal. Just don’t refresh that page.

    Basically, that page is one big hidden trick form. The “Save Changes” button submits that form. If you do Save Changes, it takes you right back to where you were. Or does it? Now you have that new “view site” thing at the top.

    If you refresh this page, it’ll tell you that the page is the result of a POST. Why? Because it is. It’s the result of what you did when you saved the previous changes.

    This is a very general problem with that widgets page only, other pages in wordpress get around this problem by doing a transparent redirect back to their options. The widget config page does not do this.

    Instead of hitting refresh, click the Sidebar Widgets menu option at the top. This will reload the page directly, with no repost.

    Thanks for the enlightenment. As usual, I could swear it was never doing this before I started testing my own plugin (Myopia). bleh.
