    Hi I am getting an error when trying to do a refund “An error occurred while attempting to create the refund using the payment gateway API”

    Please advise how to resolve this

    Hi @joeyg101,

    To learn more about why the refund would fail, we would be interested in your plugin log files. These log files are only written when “Logging” is enabled in the plugin settings.
    If enabled, then every API call will create a log entry that can be accessed from here:
    WooCommerce > Status > Logs > select “woocommerce-paypal-payments-[…]” in the dropdown and click on view.?

    If “Logging” was not yet enabled, could you please enable it and then try to refund an order so that the error message is saved?

    There was a restriction on the PayPal account that was resolved by reaching out to the PayPal merchant support.
    So I will go ahead and mark this thread resolved as well.
