Refund Item, Not Shipping- Mark Order as Refunded

Is there a way to process a partial refund and have the order status changed to refunded instead of remaining complete?
We allow customers to return within 30 days, but we only refund the price of the product, not the flat rate shipping fee. When we partially refund, the amount refunded shows up in reporting fine but leaves us with two problems:
– Order shows a status of complete, not refunded (creates a problem if we want to pull a report of refunded orders)
– Reporting does not add to the total number of orders refunded, just the value that was refunded. This creates an issue as we need to be able to show orders refunded while still showing that we took in money for shipping that was not returned.
