• For the past couple of days, I haven’t been able to get my organization’s blog to load. I can’t even get the login page to load. Our main domain (1mission.org) works fine, but this subdomain (blog.1mission.org) doesn’t.

The message I get is this: “This site can’t be reached / blog.1mission.org refused to connect.” The error message below this is “ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED”

Anyone know what might be going on?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • The problem is with the server hosting the website, not WordPress itself.

Please contact your host… OR you if you’re managing the Linode VPS yourself, check to be sure the VPS itself is running, your web server (Apache, Nginx, etc) is running, and your firewall configuration isn’t blocking external requests on ports 80 & 443.

Note that the main domain and the sub-domain are on different servers with different hosts: the main domain is on a LiquidWeb server, whereas the subdomain is on a Linode server.

    Good luck!

Thanks, George, for that sleuthing. I appreciate it!
