Important regarding the new update sku 2.8.4 – 2024-08-28

Where can I find this command you mentioned?

Developer – Use a fixed SKU when testing the product converter.

Does it now read sku instead of adding gal?
Please clarify the new update and regarding sku
Because it has a direct relation to retargeting and marketing ads

    Hello shakoor99,

Thank you for contacting Woo support.

Dev – Use a fixed SKU number when testing product adapter.

Please note that the change log type “Dev” refers to changes related to the development process itself. These changes include updates on internal processes that developers use.

While these updates are crucial for maintaining and improving the development environment, they generally do not have a direct impact on the end users. This update is more about ensuring consistency during the testing process for developers.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us again if you have more questions or concerns.

    Hi @shakoor99

I apologize if my colleague’s explanation was unclear. To address your query about the new update 2.8.4 and the fixed SKU, this is a development feature used by our developers during testing. It doesn’t directly affect the functioning of your WooCommerce, Google for WooCommerce, or your marketing strategies.

The SKU mentioned in the update is a unique identifier used internally in the testing phase. It’s not related to the SKU you might use for your individual products in your store.

I hope this clarifies things for you. Please feel free to ask if you have further questions.

The question should be rephrased for you
Knowing that there are many people who understand marketing and retargeting in marketing who understand the meaning that when the product code does not match, there is a defect in marketing and data collection
And no one can deny this
In your add-on, you add gal at the beginning of the product ID
Why don’t you open a box and let the customer choose from it whether he wants to continue with you or wants to customize his sku

I asked you as soon as I saw the word sku in the update details

    Hi @shakoor99

In your add-on, you add gal at the beginning of the product ID

This is a default feature used to identify which product has been synced to the Merchant centre. However, you can remove it using the code snippet shared share: https://woocommerce.com/document/google-for-woocommerce/faq/#how-do-i-remove-the-gla-prefix-from-synced-products

Why don’t you open a box and let the customer choose from it whether he wants to continue with you or wants to customize his sku

I understand your suggestion about providing an option for customers to customize their SKU. This is a great idea, and It would be great to have you add your ideas as a feature request, which is where developers go to look for future plugin features and improvements.

Please feel free to ask if you have any further questions or concerns. We’re here to help.
