Hello, I migrated from Magento to Woocommerce. 5370 products migrated. About 500 of them have a non existing URL. By non existing I mean: there is a . in the product URL, since Woocommerce made SLugs based on product name (which have a .)

So now there are 500 products with one or two . in the name. For example:

    https://deurbeslaggigant.nl/product/deurkruk-met-rond-rozet01.02001.31.VB/ or click here

It gives a 404 notice. Now I can check all my 5000 products manually, but I thought if I can do a trick or use a plugin which renegerates all product urls automatically the problem is solved. The site is new and hasn’t been indexed yet so its not a problem.

Long story short: how can I easily regenerate all product URLS in Woocommerce? Since I know they wont accept points in URLS so problem is solved then.

    Hi there,

One possible fix would be to export all of your products to CSV using the built-in product import/export functionality. After that, you could delete the existing products, and then re-import them from the CSV file, which should cause the slugs/URLs to be generated from the product titles. There’s information about the importer/exporter here:
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/product-csv-importer-exporter/

I would definitely recommend making sure you have a complete backup of everything before doing this. Doing a test run on a staging/dev site would be good too if possible. If you don’t have one already, your hosting company might offer one as part of your package. Alternatively, you can use a free plugin like https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-staging/

    I hope that helps!

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
