Regenerate Thumbnails Keeps stopping

Hey Opa,

I had another thing pop up this morning. I went to regenerate my Thumbnails and the process is taking a really long time. Allow me to explain.

It started with a count of 9000+ images. The first 4000 or so were done in a few minutes. Then it hit about 4500 left and started slowing down to 1 every few minutes and the process would constantly say “working” then “pending” for a long time, then countdown maybe one photo. Most of the time the process just stops and I have to restart it.

I check my CRON jobs and nothing is running that I can see. All my images are about the same size so I can’t figure out why it would blast through four thousand really fast then slow down to a crawl for the remaining. As I write this I have been processing about 50 thumbnail over the last 3 hours versus the first four thousand in about 5 minutes.
