Also, please ensure that the ‘Regenerate’ option’s chunk size is set to a minimal value, preferably less than 10, for optimal performance. Hope it will work.

I found a workaround, but it is the opposite of what you suggested. I have to do them manually in incremental batches. For example, there are 100 images. I regenerate 10. When that is done, I regenerate 20, and so on, until I get up to 100. It seems to work.
