Regex Exclude Files Option

    Am I correct that the Regex Exclude Files setting is a global files/folders exclusion policy and that the Files Options tab in the Generate Backups screen should not be used if the Regex Exclude Files setting is used?

    Conversely, if I only want to use the Files Options tab in the Generate Backups screen to manage file and folder exclusions, should I clear all entries from the Regex Exclude Files setting?

  • The Files Options can be used in addition to the Regex Exclude option, and the regex option should options should not be cleared when using the Files Options visual exclude area unless you want to explicitly clear the default items there.

    Thanks for the response, Ovidiul. I thought I posted a question to your reply but it’s not showing in the forum. I’ll ask it again.

    If I wanted to use only the Files Options to exclude files and folders, and not use the Regex Exclude Option, I should clear the Regex Exclude Option (after copying the regex statements to a text file for safekeeping) correct? Is there some reason I have to keep the Regex Exclude Option statements, even if I only want to use the Files Option?

    The regex code is only a list of default excluded folders/files that you might want to use, you can clear that list up if you are sure you want to use exclusively the files exclude option from the generate backup screen.
