I forgot one important issue. The plugin forces to select no just a language but a region too. For instance: US English, Spanish from Mexico, and so on.

It makes the http redirection fails when the visit’s browser was installed in, for example, Chilean Spanish version (which is my case).

Is there a way for just set the language and not the region, so all visits with the same language configuration be redirected to one site no matter their region? Otherwise, we should create one subsite for each and every region duplicating the same content for the same language.

Thanks in advance for the answer.

    Regards,

    Daniel

  • In almost all cases, the first language tag alone is not a sufficient description of the content language. Especially Spanish is the most common example for that. ??

However, MultilingualPress is smart enough to use just the first language tag, the en in en-US, and find the most similar content in your installation. See Language negotiation – how our redirect feature works for the details.
