Register Plus Redux & Absolute Privacy?

  • I’m setting up a private site, and would like to use Register Plus Redux & Absolute Privacy. I have both plugins installed and activated, but RPR gives me this notification at the top of the settings page:
    There is another active plugin that is conflicting with Register Plus Redux. The conflicting plugin is creating its own wp_new_user_notification function, this function is used to alter the messages sent out following the creation of a new user.     Before I go further, I need to know if this will be a problem? Will these two plugins work together okay (I’d hate to get way into this project, and have to replace one of the plugins and redo a bunch of stuff based on it).

    I don’t need confirmation emails from RPR, since I’ll be personally approving (or rejecting) everyone that registers. If I understand correctly the error only affects the auto-responder for new registrants. Should I expect any other problems? Will everything else work fine between these plugins? Surely I’m not the first person to try using these two plugins together?

    Still hoping for some help, but I installed both plugins and started messing around. What I’ve got so far is a registration form that goes like this:

    • Username
    • Email
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Password
    • Repeat Password
    • Short message from Absolute Privacy (I believe)
    • Confirm Email
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Website
    • Phone Number
    • Mailing Address
    • Password
    • Confirm Password
    • Disclaimer

    As you can see it appears that AP is not allowing RPR to completely take over and manage the registration form. Does anyone know of a way to either a) force AP to allow RPR to take over the form, or b) have RPR just add the additional fields needed, without re-doing the ones that are there?

    On 2nd thought, I’m not sure that option b would work, as I need first and last name to be required fields (which can only be done through RPR). If I remove the names in the RPR settings, then those fields aren’t duplicated, but the ones that exist are not required.

    This issue has been resolved in 3.7.0, specifically, the conflict over wp_new_user_notification, that is so long as you don’t do anything that would require modifying the user or admin notification. Such as a custom admin message, or disabling the user notification, etc.
