Register this plugin's categories as regular WP categories?

Hello,
I’m have a WP theme that uses a proprietary page builder which has its own ‘blocks’ (basically widgets), but cannot use regular WP widgets such as Randomize directly.
One of said blocks is a ‘news ticker’ which can rotate titles of posts in a defined category.
Now, I’d like to replace this functionality by displaying random pieces of text with the help of Randomize. The trouble is that its own categories do not appear in the list of WP categories.
Would it be possible to have them show among the rest of the categories with minimum code editing?
