• Hello,

i’m currently setting up a membership website and testing members creation. In order to check payment, email notifications, redirections, restrictions etc, i have to create users with real email addresses. But i can’t create 50 email acounts. So i delete the user created and register with the same email address again. But wordpress won’t let me use the same email address again although it has been deleted. Is there a way to completely delete user so that i can use the same email address many times ? Because once again, i don’t have 50 email accounts.

    Thank you

  • You talk about working with memberships. Do you use a plugin for this, if so which one?

Background to the question: if these were pure WordPress users, they would indeed be completely gone when deleted and could also register again. My assumption is that the users are also stored in the membership plugin you use and remain there even if they have ordered something (because the order requires the data).

By the way, a tip: instead of dozens of email accounts, you can also work with “+” addresses with many email providers. See e.g.: https://simplelogin.io/blog/email-alias-vs-plus-sign/

Hello and thank you for your reply.

Actually even when trying to recreate user with WordPress users -> add new, i get the following error message

Error: this email address is already registered. Log in with this address or choose another one.

(I made sure user have been deleted also from membership plugin beforehand).

To sum up the situation. If i create (in WordPress users -> add new) [email protected], then i delete it, then i recreate [email protected], i will get the error message above
By the way i use multisite, and i’ve checked that user has also been deleted in the other site.
