Registered in s2M but not in MC

I noticed that a few customers have either purchased or just registered on my site (level 0 or 1) and do not complete the double-optin of MC. This, in the end, grants the members access to the exclusive content, without being on my mailing list. This means that they cannot even get the autoresponders which guides them through the course, or keep them informed of the latest news.
Is there something i am missing? or is there a way to make sure that the access to the site is conditional to the registration to the mailing list?
