Registering a New User

    Past experience with a WP blog is that when clicking on LogIn in the Meta widget your were presented with the option to actually login or register as a new user. The present Meta widget being used in my Ignite Plus blog does not. How do I correct this?

    The Login link is pointing to this page on the site, which is the correct behavior: https://blog.carterville.com/wp-login.php

    What are you seeing when you click the Login link?

    Hi Ben,
    It brings up the LogIn screen as usual where you enter your username, password, Remember Me and LogIn button.

    Below that is Lost Your Password?
    < Go to The Carterville Journal

    No matter what I try… log out… delete my credentials… when I try again it only wants to log ME in … not provide an option to register.

    Got it.

    I visited the registration page directly and it said that new registrations aren’t allowed, so that must be why the registration option doesn’t show up in the login form.

    To fix this, you can visit the General > Settings menu and check the box that says “Anyone can register” -> https://d.pr/i/s8NxOA

    All is well now… another one bites the dust.

    All I need now is to get my Meta issue resolved and then there should be smooth sailing from then on out.
