Registering and formatting post format 'FAQ'

Okay here’s what I’m hoping I might get some help doing.

In an effort to use as few plugins as possible, I’m using the X theme from theme.co and they use their own built in shortcode system. It includes the ability to use shortcodes for an accordion.

What I’d like to try and do is rather than use YET ANOTHER PLUGIN that will simply create a custom post type which I do not want to do (if at all possible), I’d like to create and register a post format for ‘FAQ’.

Here’s the tricky part, I’d like to format it so it uses the shortcodes built into the theme already.

Anything posted as an ‘FAQ” format would show the title as the label of the accordion and the body as the content of the accordion. This way when I go to the category page for this post format it will show the posts as an accordion style FAQ.

Thoughts?

Obviously I have to register the post format in all the relevant places but its the formatting to use the shortcode that I’m unclear on.
