registering users to a site

  • Hi, I have just created a site in wordpress and now want to invite people to register on the site so that I can set up alerts to be sent to them when I make a new post. How do I do this, in simple terms as I am not a programmer or developer just a simple guy, lol..

  • Registration as a user at a site and subscription to a service at a site are different, and I think you are wanting to offer an opportunity for others to subscribe, not to register. Someone else here might be able to tell you exactly how to do that, but you might also take a look here:

    And if you would like to let people subscribe to an e-mail list you manage so you can send things out that way, maybe take a look at this:

    You are correct I was looking for subscribers rather than people to register.

    Found MailChimp and have loaded that into my WordPress page. Got it in and created a subscriber list from that. Just having a problem trying to set it up to automatically send our to the subscribers when I make new posts onto the site!
    Any help appreciated.

    Which plugin are you using? Find it here:

    Then go to the plugin’s own page – and find info on installing – and if you need additional help, click on the support tab – and scroll down to post there on the sub-forum for that plugin.
