Registration asks for info, but never assigns a password?

    I am a novice WP user. I want my site to have a registration setup so users can log in and comment on blog posts. I’m guessing it is not set up correctly. I have never done this before.

    Hestia theme (child)

    When a new user registers for the first time, they are asked for 2 things:
    – Username
    – Email Address

    When they fill out the form, I get an email saying they signed up as a new user. They never get an email or notification of any kind.

    On login, the user is asked for:
    – Username or Email Address
    – Password

    They never got a password.
    How can I fix this? I don’t understand why it doesn’t work.

    Hi @spdorsey,
    You can search for ‘user registration‘ inside the WP plugins repository and I believe you will find a plugin that will give you an option to customize the registration flow so that you can add your designed custom registration forms.
