Registration Confirmation Email – How-to

Hello. First, I’ve searched the forum and found no recent question on this topic. Hope this is a proper place to post my inquiry.

Our tiny blog (few posts a month and a few comments a month) is getting hit with an overload of registration spam. Bots are registering, getting past the Captcha 4.5 plug-in. It was manageable for awhile but has become much worse the last two months.

Disabling registration is not an option. See no built in option in WP 5.5.3 to set-up registration confirmation email. Have JetPack plug-in installed.

Prefer a simple solution. Something the user community approves. I’ve searched through plug-ins on WP site, but overwhelmed by the options.
