We’re having trouble getting User Registrations to complete, since the email with the password set link never arrives. Onsite, it appears the registration is done, and indeed, the user does show up in the database, but the account remains useless since the password setting step is never completed.

I installed an SMTP plugin. Still nothing. BUT, when I went to log in as this test user and clicked the password reset, it DID SEND. So, it appears the problem is not about emails being sent (I get all admin notifications as well. It’s just this particular send that isn’t working.

I’ve tried deactivating all other plugins and reverting to a default theme and there’s still the same problem.

I was just throwing out possible fixes, never guaranteed it would work or it was up to date.

Mandrill is still the easiest and most viable option to go with if we can fix his issue with not receiving registration emails.

I hope the similar support topic you posted is going to help him.

I found the plugin that keeps the email from sending, though there’s something odd in that email:

Username: chester To set your password, visit the following address: /krajinaserbic.com/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=YzGEqwfmIt3fL5xiB1RL&login=chester> https://krajinaserbic.com/wp-login.php

Notice the link is broken, the https:// is missing. How do I get this corrected?

    What plugin was it?

Simple:Press. I’ve emailed them and they’re saying it’s the first they’ve heard of that in 10,000 installs. I’m thinking it must be a conflict then, between them and someone else’s plugin.

Actually, there’s a big email setup within Simple:Press that I wasn’t aware of and didn’t have set correctly. I need to delve into that.

Simple:Press takes over and breaks registration emails?

    Not that Simple:IsIt ? ??

I’d suggest trying a different plugin or working with the plugin authors to find a solution, it’s your best bet.

When you step up and buy the plugins to the plugin, which is quite stripped without them, you have about twenty five installations at once. The plugin’s plugin that caused this problem for me was one that enables email posts to the forum. I wasn’t aware that I hadn’t completed that installation. So I already had an SMTP plugin going I didn’t know about, badly set up causing all the problems. I disabled it and Mandrill too and everything’s normal.

Lots of different plugins can cause interactions which are unwanted by the user, this is correct.

Should also be aware of this when troubleshooting your problem.

Hi Keress, could you please tell me how did u fixed this? I’m using simple press too and have same problem of yours

Fixed, I had just to disable email options in simple press ??

Glad you fixed, something simple fix is easiest and should be the first to try.

Yes, just turn off the email option, or get it set up correctly. If you use it, you won’t want to use any of the other SMTP plugins, or Manrill. After turning it off, I didn’t need any of them. Everything worked as it should.

It was a simple fix, but one I would never have imagined since I really wasn’t even aware it had that plugin and that it needed configurating. It was mixed in there with 25 other plugins for Simple:Press I installed all at once.

If you use it, you won’t want to use any of the other SMTP plugins, or Manrill.

Wait, what? @weltall and I wouldn’t have found the problem without the SMTP plugin. What do you have against logging all email? It’s best practice.
