    Good afternoon to the community!

I have just installed a fresh copy of WordPress 3.5 today, and have noticed that when a user tries to register to my site and fails for whatever reason, a blank red box is shown. It seems the error messages for registering are missing.

Also: When i try to log in, and supply an invalid username or password, I get the same thing. A blank red box with no error message.

Anyone else out there have this issue corrected? I searched the forum and found little advice.

    Thanks!

  • Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Thanks for your swift reply, esmi.

I’ve done as you’ve suggested however i’ve still gotten no change in my error messages. Any other suggestions? At this point I’m willing to try anything.

    Site url?

FYI: I have since added a theme and other plugins, however it has been a problem since the fresh install.

Looks like I found a little piece of code that for “security” reasons, provides a null response.

    I appreciate the help!

What are you using for the login? Your site is not using the default WordPress login page

I’m using theme-my-loging plugin. I was already advised by the creator that it does not alter or change anything in regards to the error messages. I’ve commented out the line that says “Return null message for security reasons” and everything worked out fine.
