    Hello, @wpbetsy

I have good news for you – recently we added custom field “Country” to our plugin, which has a full list of countries.
Now you can add it to registration form without any problems. You should open “User Fields” tab in “Profile” settings of plugin, enable “Country” field and check “Registration” checkbox for it: https://prntscr.com/jrx2hh – also you can make it required, so users can’t skip it during registration.

I didn’t update the plugin but the “country” field is already added, how can it be?

The Login Secondary Button URL doesn’t work. I placed a url there but it still goes to the default registration page.

    Hello, @wpbetsy

I meant not so long ago by “recently” ?? It’s possible that you already has this option in your version of plugin.

Just in case, we have a good instruction about Registration and Login features and their possible options on our website, so I recommend you to take a look on it: https://supsystic.com/membership-registration-login/

Can you please update the plugin for the above 2 fixes so that I can update easily?

By the way, can make the country field to detect the visitors’ country and show as default at the form automatically?

    Hello, @wpbetsy

New version of Membership by Supsystic will be available next week. So you can wait to update your plugin.

Regarding automatic detection of user country – there is no such possibility at this moment, but you can contact us via internal support to discuss this new option.

If no detection, can the admin set a default country but the users can change at front end?

    Hello, @wpbetsy

Sure you can set default country for “Countries” field in our Membership plugin.
Please, take a look on this screenshot: https://prntscr.com/jtnr8j – simply choose required country and check it as “default selected”.

This way chosen country will be applied to user automatically during registration in Membership. But he can still change it from Dropdown list of countries.

I see. Can it show no country by default and let the users choose?

Have you tried not to choose “default selected” for any of countries in list?
    Does it work for you?

    (@wpbetsy)

If not to choose default selected, it shows the first country.

    Hello, @wpbetsy

We discussed this improvements to default “Countries” field in plugin.
We decided to improve it the next way:
    1. “None” value will be added to a list of countries.
    2. Option “Set country by IP address” will be added.

I’ll let you know, when we release new version with that changes.

I tried. However, it doesn’t seem able to detect country by IP. The country field doesn’t function.
