Hi, do you have any other security plugin?

Check and see if you have the following enabled. Go to WP Security -> Firewall -> Basic Firewall Rules, locate the following Enable Pingback Protection:.

    Hi thanks for the answer.
    I just have ASKIMET.

Very strange yesterday I enabled captcha on registration and I got 3 more fake users.

So I went for approve registration and I still got 1 fake user this morning.
I got a custom login plugin but not sure this has something to do with my attacks.

    Any idea?

Enable pingback protection on now, anyway we don’t use RPC

Thank you for the extra information. Let me know if enabling the above option your spam has been reduced or stopped?

I added the pingback protection and removed the Enable manual approval of new registrations

    I’ll check today and tomorrow.

the Pingback protection did the job. At least for now fake user registration stopped thanks!

I’ll check better the manual as I would like to have the best protection.

update: still getting some fake registration.

Captcha seems weak. I also have a plugin to create users just on email approval but doesn’t seem to stop them

I have 135 on your security meter (btw great idea) don’t know if is enough.

Loved your features for index files and permission.
