• The site: https://www.stonesled.com looks like a style sheet has been corrupted.

    I’ve been trying to install a plugin for registration since none has been showing up. I suspect it was a big mistake to try a 2nd before uninstalling the 1st; now I can’t log into the site.

    Would appreciate suggestions and advice how to proceed. At least I can FTP, but is also would seem there would be a way to bring up the dashboard.

    Regards,

    Tom

    Early on I had another version of the site, and it works properly although it does not contain the images and content of stonesled.com.

    Would there be anything there that would be useful: it’s https://duckpondwebs.com/StoneSledFarmDev/

    from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    Apologies, I read this too fast. Am re-doing the suggestion.
    Too be clear, I leave wp-config.php and .htaccess files , and the wp-content directory as the only files on the server, then re-upload.

    No change.

    Try checking your site’s error logs for messages. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.

    You might want to ask your hosts about this:

    On the server at https://duckpondwebs.com/StoneSledFarms/wp-content/index.php nothing displays. This is the content of the file:

    <?php
    // Silence is golden.

    Is that the problem? stonesled.com should be pointing to this directory.

    Looking at files, another wordpress site has the same content, but that directory (wp-content) contains a header.php file?

    I found this in the error log of the site. Is this now a separate issue and I should open another topic?

    BuddyPress was not used and therefore removed as a plugin.

    Thanks,

    The second error is possibly related. Try asking your hosts about it.

    OK, I thought this issue should be on a separate thread but have been told not to make a second post.

    Here is the question now:

    Below is the error message on the server. I uninstalled buddy press yesterday as it wasn’t being used; I am using bbpress although I don’t know if that is part of the problem. The issue is the site, https://www.stonesled.com seems to be missing a style sheet, and I can’t log in.

    Any advice, help, suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    The second error is the application was trying to break out of /home, /tmp or /usr and access other parts of the system, which were denied.

    I uninstalled buddy press yesterday as it wasn’t being used

    Can you clarify exactly how you did that?.

    Thread Starter twcinnh

    (@twcinnh)

    Yes, I used the utility on the to Deactivate. I’m not sure but after that there may have been an option to remove the plugin.

    My suspicion is removing BuddyPress affected some dependency with BBPress. Fortunately, there are enough files offline that rebuilding the site is going quickly.
