• The site: https://www.stonesled.com looks like a style sheet has been corrupted.

I’ve been trying to install a plugin for registration since none has been showing up. I suspect it was a big mistake to try a 2nd before uninstalling the 1st; now I can’t log into the site.

Would appreciate suggestions and advice how to proceed. At least I can FTP, but is also would seem there would be a way to bring up the dashboard.

    Regards,

    Tom

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

OK, I see the themes folder inside the directory structure at: /wp-content/themes. To be sure I’m understanding this (I’m using twenty-thirteen and twenty-twelve is also in the folder), I’ll rename twenty-thirteen to twenty-thirteen-old.

    So far, nothing is displaying.

    Tom

No – if you are using the default 2013 theme, do not change any theme folder names.

    OK, I removed the -old.

Have you reset the plugin’s folder yet?

Since I can’t get into the dashboard, can I do that by FTP?

    Tom

Yes. Please the section at the link I posted above.

Yes, I just re-named the plugins folder and https://www.stonesled.com looks simpler, but still looks like a style sheet issue going on, and no log in shows.

When I try to log into wp-admin it shows ‘Nothing Found’.

Can you think of anything else I could try?

Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the root wp-config.php & .htaccess files and the the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

“Try re-uploading all files & folders”

I just downloaded and unzipped a fresh copy of WordPress. In this I find no wp-config.php or .hataccess files. However there is a wp-content folder which I will delete, then upload into the server’s wordpress folder.

    Tom

    Make that .htaccess

In this I find no wp-config.php or .hataccess files.

    That would be correct.

OK, that sounds like a good idea. Will get back with results.

It’s been a few minutes and so far no change.

Looks like all the information and content is there, but some pages have a double log in that’s not working, and the page styling.

So, it doesn’t look like the upload has changed much. I flushed the browser cache and it looks the same.

Would it make any sense to delete the files on the server, then re -upload?
