hey Im getting started with profilegrid and would really like to use it because first impression is just great.

therefore I want to style/extend the registration form with elementor (login, profile etc.)

I understood that the recommended plugin is RegistrationMagic but Im really not sure if thats a plugin to go for because of the bad reviews it has concerning database space and password security…

my question now is.. must I use RegistrationMagic if I want to customize/extend my forms or is profilegrid also compatible with other registration plugins?

excuse me if there is an obvious answer to that but I really need to know for sure since Im a beginner..

    best wishes

    Hello Karlmann,

Thank you for writing to us and your positive feedback of our plugin.

Please know that using RegistrationMagic with ProfileGrid is completely optional. You can choose not to use it at all and just use ProfileGrid’s core?registration forms instead.

ProfileGrid is currently only compatible with RegistrationMagic for advanced registration form customization. RegistrationMagic is one of the many?plugins made by?our team, just like ProfileGrid. It is completely secure and performance efficient. So rest assured you will not have any such issues using RegistrationMagic as our team keeps it updated to follow the latest?security standards.

thanks for your reply. thing is I really like profilegrid but I need to customize the registration form but like mentioned I have some worries reading unanswered reviews where people stated some disadvantages regarding RegistrationMagic…

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/totally-not-safe-and-really-bad-optimization/

    quote:

“The passwords saved on the database are not encryped, they’re just stored in a plain text format, like “pass123”. Which can lead to serious trouble if someone steals your database information.

If you use this for user registrations, for each custom field that you are using on your form, you’ll get one extra entry on the database (“crf_submissions” table to be more precise), this means that if you’re using 9 custom profile fields on a form, you’re getting a total of 20 rows for each user registered ( 9 custom and 11 which come default ), if you have a lot of users registrations daily, this may lead to some serious space eater on your database, which I think that it could have been avoided.”

I dont know if updates have been made since. the support didnt reply. but to me that doesnt sound so well…
you saying its completely secure and performance efficient.
can you please just tell me something regarding those topics?

like I said I would really like to customize my forms but also want to avoid insecurity and plugins causing massive space.

    Hi Karlmann,

This review is of an outdated version of?RegistrationMagic, more than 3 years old. Since then, RegistrationMagic has been rebuilt from scratch and?gone through phases of multiple code revamps and functionality upgrades. We recommend RegistrationMagic since we are planning to introduce more features and integration options in future.

To get yourself up and running, here’s a quick guide on how to integrate ProfileGrid with RegistrationMagic: https://profilegrid.co/profilegrid-registrationmagic-integration/

Feel free to write back to us if you have any other questions regarding the integration. We’re always happy to help.
