Hi! So we want to allow user registration and login on a custom page using social logins… but we also want a regular (email) registration option.

Does Nextend not support regular email signup/login? It seems weird that we would need an entirely different plugin just for this.

    Thank you; all the best.

    Hi @xroox!

We too register just plain WordPress accounts. So we register accounts the exact same way as WordPress does when you sign up through the traditional email form. Nextend Social Login provides an extra login/signup option, but won’t take away from already existing features. So you can have a traditional sign up form, and Nextend Social Login buttons on the same page.

Additionally, if you have already registered with an email address, then use Nextend Social Login to sign in, and the email address of the WordPress account matches with the email address of the social media account, then we will log you in to this WordPress account, and link the social media account to this WordPress account as well.

If you want a custom login page, then please note that by default we only display our social login buttons on the default login page of WordPress, so if you want to show the login buttons elsewhere, you can use our shortcode:

    Hi! I’ll provide more information:

I am looking to design custom registration and login pages using a page builder (Elementor). Nextend provides a shortcode for adding a social option, but not a traditional email-based shortcode. To get this I would need another plugin.

It seems to me it would make sense for one plugin to allow users to add a traditional (email) option as well as social logins.

Thanks for tracking with me on this.

    Hi @xroox!

Currently we don’t have an option like this. We didn’t do a feature for it, because a registration/login form can be quite complex, for example it needs a user friendly way of changing its design. With social logins, a lot of providers have requirements about how login buttons has to look like, that is why we don’t need such a style system for example for Facebook or Google. And since a lot of buttons has to look the way they do, it is easily accepted that other buttons will follow the same design. So this is the main reason we don’t do registration/login forms, because we don’t have a system it would require for design (and html elements).
