We have set Sales Prices on some Products to promote them as On Sale on the store.
After updating the Product the store frontend correctly displays the regular price stroked through with the new discounted sales price.

However every afternoon, the store frontend display changes. The products are still marked On Sale and the regular price is stroked through. But the sales price appears identical to the regular price. And this incorrect sales price is also applied at checkout.

However, on the product itself, the correct discounted sales price is still set and unchanged. The product items does not seem to have been altered. Only on the store frontend, the sales price is swapped with the regular price.

After updating the product the store again displays everything correctly. Until the next day afternoon when the frontend is again incorrectly showing the regular price.

Please also note that we are using StockSynchronization for WooCommerce Plugin. The daily synchronizations do however not update the Sales Price, only stock on hand and the regular price.
This synchronization runs in the early afternoon. Immediately after the synch everything still appears correct. Until later in the afternoon when the error occurs.
We therefore concluded that the synchronization does not appear to be the root of the problem.

Any assistance to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi @pitswisscom!

    I understand your current situation.

Reading your case makes me think that this could be related to a conflict with WooCommerce and your theme or another plugin (possibly the StockSynchronization for WooCommerce plugin).

To be sure of this and determine the culprit of the problem, you can perform a conflict test. To do it, temporarily switch your theme back to Storefront, disable all plugins except WooCommerce, and then try changing the price and wait if there are any changes after a while. If that solves the issue, then re-enable all plugins one-by-one, until you find the one creating the conflict.

If you cannot perform a conflict test on your live site, we recommend creating a staging site using the WP Staging plugin.

You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/.

Let us know how that goes for you!

    Many thanks for your advise.
We have determined the StockSynchronization for WooCommerce plugin to cause the conflict.
The developer provided a patch and the issue has been resolved.

Great! Glad to know that you could identify StockSynchronization for WooCommerce as the culprit, and the issue is now resolved with a patch from the developer.

I’ll go ahead and mark this thread as resolved. Should you have any other questions, feel free to create a new thread with us.

    Cheers
