Regulator in sidebar

I have a General question concerning an advanced Feature. For example i have a section with Images of countries in it.

Now i want a Regulator on the right side (in the sidebar) where i can Switch from 5 Topics ” Europe – America – Australia – Africa – Asia”. When i pick one of those filters, only Pictures of this continent shall be shown.

My question is how can I implement such a “Regulator”. Is there a plugin, a theme or anything else for such a Feature?
